For those who don't wrestle or don't have wrestlers in their families, I think they assume that the lightest you can be will give you the best chance to win. That's mostly true, but not always the case.

When a guy makes a big cut for his team, it often means a lot more than going below 6% body fat: it can include a fair amount of muscle mass. Imagine you've jacked yourself up and have become accustomed to being one of the strongest guys on the mat, then you have to cut and you're now wrestling lighter and feeling weaker. I think Chisko made a cut like that this year. I bet he would wrestle even better a weight class higher if he plans and builds himself back for it.

I also can't see McFadden below his current weight. No way.
